These Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps are fast to put together and are full of flavor. Serve on large lettuce leaves with a spoonful of fried rice for a very satisfying meal.
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 Package ground turkey breast (approximately 1-1/4 lbs.)
1 Teaspoon grated ginger (fresh or minced ginger in the jar)
1/2 Cup finely diced carrots
1 Tablespoon brown sugar
3 Tablespoons minced cilantro
2 Tablespoons minced fresh mint (you can also use bottled dried mint leaves)
2 Tablespoons fresh lime juice
1-1/2 Tablespoons fish sauce
1 Teaspoon sesame oil
1 Large jalapeno, chopped (remove seeds and rib first)
12 Or so large lettuce leaves (iceberg, bibb or romaine are my favorites)
We love to put a spoonful of Wench Fried Rice in these lettuce wraps before adding the turkey mixture. We also enjoy drizzling a little House of Tsang Classic Stir-Fry Sauce over the top. Hoisin sauce is delicious too!
This is a very satisfying, yet light, meal. Enjoy!
Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add turkey, ginger and carrots. Cook until turkey is done.
Add remaining ingredients up through jalapeno.
Spoon about 1/3 cup of turkey mixture into lettuce leaf. Enjoy!
