Another easy holiday cocktail to add to your repertoire!
So easy I was able to video me making the cocktail . . . twice! I was on a roll and just decided to keep going . . . and didn't even bother to edit.
How'd I wind up with this cocktail?
Well, I was binge-watching Fox News one day when Dean Martin's daughter, Deana, showed up as a guest.
I was half-watching as she prepared some of her dad's favorite dishes as well as her "Deana Martini."
(Yeah, the word "martini" caught my attention. I put the broom down and gave her my full attention!)
Running out of time, she went through the ingredients and measurements so quickly that I was only able to catch the highlights.
So I started with what I had scribbled down.
I decided to forego straining the cocktail into a martini glass because, well, sometimes I like the melting ice.
The splash of bitters was added at Jeff's suggestion.
A definite improvement. Thank you, Jeff!
As I was listening to Deana, I couldn't help but think of Dean Martin, Engelbert Humperdinck, Nancy Sinatra, Bobbie Jo Gentry.
I remember listening to these artists for hours on my parents' reel-to-reel.
Engelbert Humperdinck was my favorite. I was a little girl with a gigantic crush on him.
I remember watching the Dean Martin show with my mom.
Such great memories of my childhood for this Christmas season. Enjoy!
