These Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps are fast to put together and are full of flavor. Serve on large lettuce leaves with a spoonful of fried rice for a very satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 Package ground turkey breast (approximately 1-¼ lbs.)
- 1 Teaspoon grated ginger (fresh or minced ginger in the jar)
- ½ Cup finely diced carrots
- 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
- 3 Tablespoons minced cilantro
- 2 Tablespoons minced fresh mint (you can also use bottled dried mint leaves)
- 2 Tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1-½ Tablespoons fish sauce
- 1 Teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 Large jalapeno, chopped (remove seeds and rib first)
- 12 Or so large lettuce leaves (iceberg, bibb or romaine are my favorites)
Note
We love to put a spoonful of Wench Fried Rice in these lettuce wraps before adding the turkey mixture. We also enjoy drizzling a little House of Tsang Classic Stir-Fry Sauce over the top. Hoisin sauce is delicious too!
This is a very satisfying, yet light, meal. Enjoy!
