Hummus with Pita chips

Found this recipe on Inspired Taste and whipped this up in no time.  So good.  So easy.  When I served it Jeff said, “You MADE this???!”  I served the dip along with pita bread triangles I had misted with olive oil and baked in the oven at 350 until toasted.

ENJOY!

This fresh homemade hummus is fast and easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup tahini
  • 1/4 Cup olive oil
  • 1 Large clove garlic (chopped)
  • 3 Ounces fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 2 Cans garbanzo beans/chickpeas (drained and rinsed)
  • 1/4 Cup water

Note

I served this with pita bread that I had cut into triangles, misted with olive oil and baked in the oven at 350 until toasted.  It is a delicious and easy snack!

Directions

Step 1
In food processor, mix tahini and olive oil until smooth. Add lemon juice, garlic, cumin, salt. Process until incorporated.
Step 2
Add garbanzo beans, a little a time and process after each addition to ensure hummus is a smooth consistency.
Step 3
While the processor is running, add just enough water to bring the hummus to your preferred consistency.
Step 4
To serve, drizzle a little extra olive oil over top and sprinkle with a bit of paprika, if desired.
