    Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies

    If ever a cookie were classy, this is it!  These Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies are unique and delicious.

    The sea salt doesn't dissolve into the dough so what your taste buds get to enjoy with each bite is a delightful burst of salt combined with the sweetness of chocolate.

    THIS is one sophisticated cookie, my friends!

    Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies

    Slightly adapted from recipe on Cooking Light
    These grown-up chocolate chip cookies are sure to please with a delightful explosion of salt mixed with the sweetness of the chocolate chips.

    Ingredients

    • ⅓ Cup rough-chopped unsalted, roasted peanuts
    • 1 Cup flour
    • ½ Teaspoon baking powder
    • ¼ Teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ Cup sugar
    • ½ Cup brown sugar (packed)
    • ¼ Cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
    • 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 egg
    • ⅓ Cup semisweet chocolate chips
    • ½ Teaspoon course sea salt
    • cooking spray

    Directions

    Step 1
    Lightly toast nuts by placing on cookie sheet in preheated 350ºF oven for about 7 minutes.
    Step 2
    In small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and baking soda. Set aside.
    Step 3
    Mix butter and sugars at medium speed in large bowl for approximately 2 minutes, until fluffy. add vanilla and egg. Mix until combined.
    Step 4
    Turn mixer to low speed, add flour mixture to egg/sugar mixture until combined. Stir in nuts, chocolate chips and salt.
    Step 5
    On greased cookie sheet, drop dough by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart. Bake until lightly browned (about 10 minutes). Allow cookies to cool slightly before removing them from cookie sheet and placing on wire rack to cool completely.
